The event of Magadheera audio was held in the most enticing way while Suma anchored it. Srinu Vaitla, Nagababu, VV Vinayak, Chinni Krishna, Murugudoss, Srikanth, Ravi Teja, Ali, Venu Madhav, Meher Ramesh, Dil Raju, Surender Reddy, Bhaskar, Allu Arjun, Allau Aravind, Srihari, Pawan Kalyan, Chiranjeevi have blessed Ram Charan and also wished success for entire cast and crew of Magadheera. Chiranjeevi and Ram Charan have come wearing same white designer shirts like uniform.

While the event is one interesting part, the other aspect that attracted many is Nagababu and VV Vinayak asking Chiranjeevi to act in films again. Paruchuri Venkateswara Rao also asked Chiranjeevi to act in films again and also softly compelled him to act in his readied script ‘Uyyalawada Narasimha Reddy’ which can be made on par with Magadheera. He recalled that out of 25 films he wrote for Chiranjeevi 22 ran for 100 days.

“Chiranjeevi garu! Please act in films again. You can act along with doing social service. None can stop you. You are the artiste. You have no barriers”, said Paruchuri Venkateswara Rao.

And SS Rajamouli revealed that Chiranjeevi appeared in a scene in Magadheera and he doesn’t wish that should be last film of him. He wished that Chiru should act in full length movie again.

Many say that Chiru is giving green signal to hit floors shortly. Chiru replied to this saying, “I don’t understand what to say. I’m in indecisive vacillation to say whether I can act or should I act or can I travel on two boats at a time”.

HYDERABAD: If the leather armour of the dashing Ram Charan Teja in swashbuckling prince ‘avtaar’ has caught your eye in the promos of semi-periodical flick ‘Magadheera’, it is part of the magic worked out by art director S. Ravindar.

Apart from labouring to create the film’s sets, he racked his creative brains to design the chariot, arms, armour and helmet of hero, villain, horses and other characters in the film. The sets of the film apparently cost a staggering Rs.6 crore.Mood-elevating

If there is something that could better characterise the 31-year-old art director is his itch to execute every assignment without blemish. “I feel sets should not distract the audiences, but help elevate the mood of a film. Realistic sets help director narrate a film more effortlessly,” he remarks. Luckily for him, “I worked with good directors who gave a lot of freedom.”

Ravindar is the one behind the sets of ‘Aithe’, ‘Morning Raga’, ‘Chatrapati’ (for which he created a 2.5 acre fisherman village set), ‘Okkadunnadu’, ‘Vikramarkudu’, ‘Rakhi’ (recreated an 1803 German loco engine from scrap material), ‘Amma Cheppindi’ (space station), ‘Ashta Chamma’, ‘Anukokunda Oka Roju’, ‘Prayanam’, and now ‘Magadheera’.

He is also working on an international project, ‘Bhopal: A prayer for rain’ based on the infamous Bhopal gas tragedy for which he created a rustic factory and slum set in Bollarum at a cost of Rs.1.4 crore.

Born and brought up in Nellore, he did his bachelors in fine arts from JNTU, Hyderabad, before heading to IIT-Delhi for Masters in designing course. After dabbling in software and web-designing for a brief while “to earn my daily bread” he forayed into tinsel world with ‘Amrutham’ serial.

About ‘Magadheera’: “It is a nice film with a lot of scope for art department. As some portions of the film date back to 400 years about whose culture we don’t have many references, we had to use our imagination when designing the sets. Every scene was challenging.”

Nudge him about the plot and he remarks shrewdly, “I don’t want to reveal anything now.”Surprisingly, he watches few films. “I don’t have the patience to watch films.” What
about the films he has been involved? “Just once,” he replies.

Kajal calls it her fortune to be a part of the exciting project, she had worked 14 hours every day since the film began and even went through rigorous dancing classes after pack up to look like a classical dancer in the dheera dheera magadheera number. To look like a heroine of a love story that dates back to 400 years is no easy task.

She adds, “I had to get the body language right, I was required to give strong emotions as this film in one half of the story doesn’t allow any physical contact. Every emotion is
through the eyes. From day one when I heard the script, I kept doing my homework. I watched a lot of Raj Kapoor-Nargis films to see their chemistry come alive on screen.

The make up every day was for over two hours and we shuttled from periodic to contemporary sets at the drop of the hat. One day I was a princess, the other day was a normal college girl. Finally, I didn’t cheat on anything or myself, hopefully all of that shows when the film releases.”

The most interesting scene that Kajal says one should look out for was when the hero, Ramcharan comes chasing her on a horse while she’s in the bus.It was shot at RTC Cross Roads. Kajal giggles, “the hero just discovers that I’m the girl he’s looking for and he’s chasing us in the busy traffic. It’s funny and I’m sure everyone will like it.”
